June 24, 2009 (What did you think about yesterday's class on Expert Googling? Did you try searching the Internet using some of the things t)
I think yesterdays class on expert Googling was kind of boring. I'll never use any of that information taught because I didnt really like the ways I was taught. Yes I tried searching some things on the internet using the things I were taught and it was okay but not something I'll ever really do. No, I didnt really notice a diffrence in the type of information I found.

So you don't believe that you'll ever want to be able to go directly to the exact type of information that you're looking for by refining your Google search techniques? For example, Lynne talked about enclosing your search terms with quotation marks so that Google will search and retrieve pages that have the exact term you're looking for instead of every single page that contains one or more of the words that you used. You didn't find that helpful?
ReplyDeleteWhat about the Firefox addons? Did you find those boring, too? They're not for everyone, for sure. I didn't use any of them until recently myself. Sometimes it's just a matter of what you use the computer for and what you feel would enhance your experiences.
