July 10, 2009 (What was the most interesting thing that you've learned in the past 5 weeks of library instruction classes? What do you wish that we'd)
The most intersting thing I've learned in the past 5 weeks of library instruction classes are the cool resources they have. The one I liked the most is the chatting with the librarian. I don't wish we'd spent more time doing anything, I think the time we had was just enough of time.
July 9, 2009 (What was the most interesting thing about your Health Career Pre-Collegiate classes? Would you recommend this program to your friends?)
The most intersesting thing about my HCPC classes we're tat I got to sort of experience collge life. The labs were the coolest thing to me because many people dont get to do a hands on lab with human brains, hearts and lungs at the age of 17. I would definatly reccomend this program to my friends because it sort of gives you a head start on LIFE.
July 8, 2009 (Do you know what you want to do when you grow up? What makes that profession/career/job attractive to you?)
Yes, I know what I want to d when I grow up. I want to be a neonatologist, have my own resturant and little league girls soccer team. What makes that career atrractive to me is I want to be in the health field because I like to help people and I have a passion for new born baby' so I think I'd enjoy helping out in the neonatal department. The resturant is attractive to me because before i wanted to be a doctor I also wanted to be a chef, so instead of me completly persuing that career I can have a little of my own dream too. Then the little league soccer team is attracttive to me because I am a soccer player and have been since I was five so I have an incredible passion for soccer, and I love to teach others how to play another sport, so since I probly wont make it Pro playing soccer, I can also give back to that dream by having a little soccer team of my own.

July 7, 209 (Do you think you'd ever want to work in a library? Why or why not?)
No, I dont think I'd ever want to work in a library. It seems a little bring to me. I like to do hands on things like research and labs, and I dont think sitting in a library all day looking up books for people would be for me.
July 6, 2009 (Why do you think teachers (and librarians) want to see a variety of sources (i.e. books, journal articles, websites) in your paper's bi)
I think teachers want to see a variety of sources in a students paper bibliography because it shows the infprmation in diffrent ways. By having diffrent sources you get a variety of views on things. Also, by having the same source throughout the whole paper it makes it a little boring. Bringing in multiple sources also makes the writer sound more intelligent.

July 2, 2009 (What do you think of libraries? What would make you want to come to the library (or, what do you wish libraries did or have)?)
I think llibrarys are pretty resoourceful, they basically have all the information you would ever need for any topic. What would make me come to libraries is if they had snack shacks, that would kind of be cool. I actually like librarys how they are, I dont think anything extra is needed.
July 1, 2009 (What's the hardest thing about finding information for you?)
The hardest thing about finding information for me is finding the right website that has information on it. I'll go to multiple websites looking for one that has ALL the information I need in one. Also, its hard for me to find information in books, I dont like reading books to find information, I only like reading books for pleasure.

June 30, 2009 (What do you think librarians do? What do you think would be really cool if librarians started doing it?)
I think librarians are experts on looking for books and books in general. I think they help people to find the book for a certain subject. I dont know. I dont really think librarians are cool. l.o.l. I guess maybe if they gave away candy tat would be cool. I dont know!!
June 29, 2009 (What do you think is the future of books? Do you think we'll ever see a future where everything is online? What are the advantages of )
I think the future of books is very slim. I think pretty soon all books will be online and librarys will just be full of computers for people to read books on. So basically we'll only have electronic books to read. Yes, I definatly think theres a future where everything will be online. The advantagesof a book are that you can easily take it where ever you go, also you can write in them if you own them.
Juene 26, 2009 (QUESTION OF YOUR CHOICE-How do you feel about the tornado warning that happpened today?)
I wasnt really scared. We have tornado warnings all the time and I;ve come to the point where I just dont really sweat them anymore. It did sort of get realistiv though when that funnel cloud was over the building and we could see it clearly moving around. But other than than, Im sort of glad that warning happened because we got out of class early!!!!

June 25, 2009 (What do you hope to study when you go to college? Why?)
What I hope to study when I go to college is pre-med. I want to study this because it will help me fulfill my dream of becoming a Neonatal Doctor when I grow up. Also because it will help me in the long run for graduate school.
June 24, 2009 (What did you think about yesterday's class on Expert Googling? Did you try searching the Internet using some of the things t)
I think yesterdays class on expert Googling was kind of boring. I'll never use any of that information taught because I didnt really like the ways I was taught. Yes I tried searching some things on the internet using the things I were taught and it was okay but not something I'll ever really do. No, I didnt really notice a diffrence in the type of information I found.
June 19, 2009 (What do you think about the spoof websites from today's class? Does it make you consider the Internet differently than you did before?)
I think the spookwebsites from today's class were interesting. I knew there were sites out there like that on the internet but I've never really been to one. But If I ever did run into one I think I'd know it was fake. The information on those websites areeasy to identify as fake, and anyone who believes any of them are out of whack and need help. No, these websites didnt make me consider the internet diffrenly than I did befo. I still rely on it as my number one resource for research, you've just got to be smart about it when your browsing.

June 23, 2009 (Finding accurate and/or factual information on the Internet is __________________________. Why do you think that?)
Finding accurate and/or factual information on the internet easy! I think this because it's easy access, and you don't have to be very smart to do it. You dont have to go through very much to look for info on the internet, and also it gives you accurate information most of the time. I also perfer looking for information through the internet because anyother way seems too much like a drag.

June 22, 2009 (You made it through your first week of the HCPC program-- how do you feel about things?)
Now that I've made it through my first week of PCHCP I feel a slight relief. Im glad that the first week is over, but im not really anticiated these next four weeks. I just feel like the program shouldnt be so long. Technically we should be done at 1:50, but there was a bunch of nonesense classes added on to the schedule that we just sit the whole time in. But, whatever I guess. And the lunch to me is HORRIBLE!! I hate it so much, I wish wecould go off campus, or just have the same subway sandwhich everyday like the downtown campus, I'd rather have that than the lunch we have. The work isn't too hard just yet. Im hanging in there. But so far so good...

June 18, 2009 (Do you seek out a librarian when you need help finding information for your homework? Why or why not?)
No, I never seek out a librarian when i need help finding information for my homework. The reason for me is because it just never comes to mind. If I need info for something i just go to google.I guess it just our generation, we'd rather use technology rather than an human. Plus, what if i needed info over the weekend, I would want to have to drive allll the way to the library just so they can help me find info, when i can find itt on the internet?
June 17, 2009 (When you have to write a paper for a class, where do you start researching information for your topic?)
When I have to write a paper for a class, I start researching for information on google. It seems like the easiest website to acccess information from. I go here for almost everything and get an answer 99% of the time. Sometimes when i search for things on Google it almost always brings up links to Wiki so I guess you can say i use both the search engines. I heard that Wiki sometimes has false information, thats why I don't use it as my main search engine.

June 16, 2009 (Why do you think you have to attend library instruction classes?)
I think we have to attend library instruction classes because it helps to further our knowledge of the online library here at UCD. It also helps us so we have more resources to go to while in our 5-week program. We also probaly have to attend this library instruction class because it is beneficial to our college education in the future. We'll probly end up using the same type of online library no matter what college we go to, so this is a lead way to what we might experience in college. Finally, because it's somethig fun to add onto the program. Instead of us sitting in the classrooms for hours and hours, it feels good to get a break and browse the online library.
